Adelphoi Theologia was founded on November 10, 1785 by six members of the Harvard College Class of 1786. As of November 4, 1835, the group changed its name to The Society for Religious Improvement. The records document the history and activities of this religious society.

The first football game is rumored to have been played on the Harvard campus between the freshman and sophomore classes in the fall of 1827. Football became an organized sport at Harvard in December 1872, when the Harvard University Foot-Ball Club (H.U.F.B.C. or H.F.B.C.) was formed to foster interest ino the sport within the College. This collection consists of official programs published for Harvard University football games.

The Records Management Office (RMO), part of the Harvard University Archives, developed the General Records Schedule (GRS) and published it in 1997.  The GRS lists types of records found in University offices with guidance on their retention and destruction. This work was done as mandated by a vote of the President and Fellows of Harvard College.  These documents provide a record of the GRS's creation.
